Facing South reports that BP is attempting to hire marine faculty at southern universities to do research on the oil spill. The catch: they cannot reveal the results of their research without BP’s permission. In addition, they are to communicate through BP’s lawyers, a provision obviously intended to clothe their results in attorney-client privilege.
